Product Review: Trio Diamonds

Today’s product review is for ostomates, both new and veteran.

Trio Diamonds  have a few benefits. They turn liquid ostomy output into gel, reduce ballooning, and decrease odor. You just put one of the packets into your bag after emptying.

Each tub comes with a little bag you can carry in a pocket or purse

They are handy for me, especially for special occasions, travel, and times I really need to get a good night’s sleep. When my bag is full of liquid and air (which happens a lot if I don’t have a steady intake of food), it’s awkward and visible through my clothing. These handy little packets help extend wear time for me, and I don’t have to be quite so self-conscious about my bag. If I’m out and about trying to have a nice time, the last think I want to be worrying about is how lopsided and swollen my lower abdomen looks.

If I don’t use these, I have to get up a few times a night to empty my mostly air-filled bag. That’s one of the main reasons I tried this product at the UOAA conference in Reno. Before the product exhibition there, I assumed I was stuck with my constantly ballooning bag. I was so enthusiastic about this discovery, they put me in their testimonial video.

To buy Trio products, check out Ostomy Secrets Favorites page. They also offer sting free adhesive remover and skin barrier spray.

  1. Hello, are you still using this product? I’m looking for something to help with nighttime ballooning and since pouch filters are good for nothing when you have an ileostomy, I was hoping these Diamonds would help.

    • I’m still using this product, but I believe the name has changed. It’s sold on the Ostomy Secrets website, and it sounds like you should check it out. Filters really are good for nothing! If you’re hesitant about the price, contact the company and ask for samples.

      • I have a local supplier that sells them under the Diamonds name, but I hope insurance will cover them – they aren’t cheap! LOL

I’ve already requested samples and knowing ConvaTec, I should have them this coming week 🙂

        Thanks for the reply.

  2. I’ve used Diamonds for at least 3 yrs. and my ileostomy surgery was 2010.
Hopefully someday, somehow, convetec will arrive at a solution to prevent these sachets from turning dark. My last jar was probably 50% darkened.
On occasion I’ve brought it to the attention of the office of ostomysecrets. It’s to a point whereby I won’t order any longer and fine a different ostomy absorbent sachet
